A Few Important Things to Remember

These simple reminders help protect the casita’s equipment, water supply, and fragile island infrastructure.

Save Water

Use water carefully and make sure all faucets are fully closed.

Use the Toilet Bin

Place toilet paper in the bin and never in the toilet.

Turn Off the A/C

Switch off the air conditioning whenever you leave.

Gas Valve

The gas valve must be horizontal for the gas to flow.

Wi-Fi

Open your phone’s camera and point it at the QR code. Tap the notification to join the Wi-Fi network.

When using the same phone, open this guide on another device or use the Wi-Fi information provided inside the casita.
Water droplets

Water

Water is precious in Bocas del Toro. Please use it carefully.

  • Turn off the shower while soaping.
  • Be mindful when washing dishes.
  • Make sure both sink faucets are fully closed.
Municipal water is normally received once a day and stored in a tank. A refill may occasionally take one to three days.
Wall-mounted water heater

Hot Water

The water heater is located to the left of the toilet. A power outage may cause it to switch off.

Press the button at the bottom center to restart it.

The heater inside the casita is the same model, but black.
Toilet flush

Toilet Flush Button

Make sure the flush button returns to its normal position. If it stays stuck, the water tank may empty.

Toilet paper

Toilet Paper

Place all toilet paper in the bathroom bin, not in the toilet.

A US$50 service fee will be charged if the toilet must be unclogged.
Air conditioning unit

Air Conditioning

Turn off the air conditioning whenever you leave the casita.

Light switches

Lights & Switches

  • Kitchen and terrace: left of the door.
  • Bedroom: right of the door.
  • LED lamp: remote on the living room table.
  • String lights: switch left of the door.
Leave the string lights on when going into town at night.
Smart television

Smart TV

Cast compatible content from your phone to the Smart TV. The remote is on the living room table.

Clean bed sheets

Sheets & Extra Towels

  • Clean sheets are in the wardrobe beside the bed.
  • Two extra bath towels are under the bathroom sink.
Gretha the neighborhood cat

Gretha the Cat

Gretha is a friendly neighborhood cat who may visit. Food is available on the kitchen sink, but feeding her is optional.

Please do not let Gretha enter the casita.
Gas valve

Gas Tank

Contact us on WhatsApp if the gas runs out.

The valve lever must be horizontal for the gas to flow.
Garbage disposal

Garbage Bags

Place tied garbage bags in the large bin near the house entrance.

Guest Responsibility

Thank you for respecting the casita and the neighborhood.

No parties or events.
Respect the quiet neighborhood.
No smoking inside.
Keep the property reasonably clean.
Illegal activities are prohibited.
Guests are responsible for damage.
Turn off the A/C when leaving.
Place garbage in the entrance bin.

The owner is not responsible for accidents, injuries, theft, loss, or damage involving guests’ personal belongings.
